OVERVIEW

I am very excited to announce a business reinvention within FuseFarm.

RIDBC logo

We are overhauling our key technology, systems and processes to expand our offerings and provide a better level of service to our customers.

The key changes include:

  • Installing our own servers at a data centre in Pyrmont
  • Implementing a new technology platform (CMS)
  • Enabling a new support system and process
  • Restructuring the business to be more responsive to our client needs
  • New branding - including logo and website
  • New phone number (1300 85 FUSE)
  • New Sydney city address (on York St - TBA)

In the near future clients will be able to sign-up online and instantly build their own unique website. An integrated client interface will let clients manage their website, log support jobs and access online tools including organizational and email marketing tools.

This will change FuseFarm as it is today – providing greater offerings and accessibility.

Why?

It’s time - FuseFarm is now 5 years old and it was time to review our business and look at how we service our customers. This reinvention will result in FuseFarm expanding its’ offerings, becoming more competitive and providing a better level of support. This overhaul has been in the pipeline for some months and is consistent with our (and from feedback received), our client’s, long-term business goals.

Better hosting - Previously we’ve used third-party hosting providers to offer hosting. The new system will let us have greater control of our hosting environment and be able to offer our own hosting plans. The servers are powerful new IBM xSeries servers hosted at one of Australia’s leading datacentres.

Best technology – A new leading edge technology platform underpins the new FuseFarm. The platform is based on proprietary technology, developed in-house, and has been in development for two years. It is a powerful web management system giving customers greater flexibility and more control of their website.

It allows clients to sign-up online and be guided through a wizard-like process to build their website. We have special modules for SMEs, corporates, festivals and online communities. We will continue to offer custom web development services based on the new technology.

Over time we’ll be migrating websites to this technology which will expand existing capabilities and offer superior security measures.

Better experience - The integrated client interface will give clients access to everything relating to their website and online systems in one central location. It will integrate the website management system (CMS), the support system and organizational tools (mail, calendar and CRM).

All new jobs and project issues will be posted in the support system so issues can be tracked efficiently and customers have real-time access to the status of active jobs.

I’m an existing customer – how does it affect me?

The changes will be positive for all existing customers, providing greater levels of service and enhanced web management tools.

Over the coming months we’ll be migrating existing websites to the new servers and select websites to the new technology base.

We’ll contact you before the time to discuss the process with you. We’ll let you know when the migration will take place, the expected timelines and any possible challenges.

In many cases it will require no intervention from you though it may require some testing to ensure the new site is working prior to it going live.

We’ll be issuing new login details for the client interface so you can monitor progress and log new support jobs.

What next?

We’ll keep you up to date so no actions are required at this time. We’ll contact you when it’s time to migrate.

Please contact me if you’d like to discuss any of the above.

Warm regards,
Ben Kay
